Rutger is a Senior Tax Consultant within Svalner Atlas’ Corporate Tax practice. He advises multinational enterprises on Dutch corporate income tax matters, with a focus on international and European tax issues, including the participation exemption, withholding taxes, ATAD2, permanent establishment matters, and the Dutch Minimum Tax Act 2024 (Pillar Two).
Clients rely on Rutger for advice on cross-border restructurings and for analysing the impact of new legislation and regulations on their business. He combines a strong technical tax background with a pragmatic approach, delivering clear advice that clients can readily implement.
Before joining Svalner Atlas, Rutger worked in the tax profession for over five years, gaining experience both at a leading international advisory firm and as a lecturer and researcher at Leiden University. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB), regularly publishes on tax-related topics, and serves as a case law commentator for Wolters Kluwer.
