Piia Ahonen

Piia leads the Indirect Tax practice at Svalner Atlas Finland and is a highly experienced expert in indirect taxation. Her core expertise includes value added tax (VAT) as well as a wide range of indirect tax matters in both domestic and international contexts.

Piia has over 25 years of experience across various areas of indirect taxation, including complex tax matters and dispute resolution, gained at leading international and Finnish advisory and law firms. She has acted as counsel in a wide range of indirect tax proceedings before the Finnish Tax Administration, the Central Tax Board, and administrative courts, and has also assisted clients in matters related to complaints procedures. In addition, Piia has supported clients in legislative consultation processes and various tax policy matters.
